Crafted using eco-friendly fabric, Samantha Akkineni’s maxi dress spotlighted sustainable fashion. Here’s how you can cop the look
“It has been a conscious decision to encourage homegrown in every aspect and be vocal for local,” Samantha Akkineni told us in an interview. “If we decide to dig deep, we would realise that there is so much talent here, many amazing brands and so much that Indian fashion has to offer,” she added. Given Akkineni’s influence over 13.4 million followers on Instagram alone, her mindful choices come as a great supportive step in the revival of domestic fashion. Not only that, one of the actor’s recent choices also spotlights sustainability in a high-fashion manner. After sporting a Benarasi sari by Kshitij Jalori on the Bigg Boss platform, she picked a cheerful number from Pankaj & Nidhi’s eco-friendly line for the launch of her talk show, Sam Jam. Akkineni picked a colour-blocked maxi dress from their line created entirely using R-Elan fabric, a recycled textile made from plastic waste. Samantha Akkineni styled her maxi dress with heart-shaped earrings
Apart from utilitarian pockets, a tie-up waist and fluid pleated skirt, Samantha Akkineni’s dress featured lots of playful hues, from lemon yellow to powder blue, orange and mint green. To add a feminine touch to her look, she paired the dress with limestone and gold heart-shaped earrings by AZGA Fine Artistry, along with multiple diamond studs. Beauty wise, she kept things minimal with her makeup, and tied her hair back in a simple ponytail.
